Default spur gear

Have recently put a OS VG30 motor in my Savage.
Now that it is broke in can keep the lock nut on the spur gear.
Fixed by appling a second nut as a jamb nut
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Thanks Steve

sounds like the nylon insert in your nylock nut is worn out. just replace it, should be fine with only one nut on there.

i couldn't imagine the nut backing itself off...that's weird. is your slipper pad worn out? try replacing it and scuffin up the metal slipper pad with some 600grit sandpaper...

This is gonna make me NOT sleep tonight:| which verison of the Savage is this in? single pad slipper or dual pad slipper?
