Is there easy way to remove ailerons, elevator and rudder??
Lo's everyones.. Needs to remove the aileron, rudder and elevator for complete recover of a GB Piper Cub. Any easy way to do this? Please let me kno any of yous advice please. Many thanks guys.

Simba,
It depends on the type of hinges you have. In any case the only way I know to do it is to cut through, or destroy the hinge (unless they are the flat type with removable pins). Once off, you have to rehinge. ... more work than a first time hinge job.

I've always found a barb wire fence very effective, after which a recover job is not only wanted, but necesary

Often small screws are used in one side of the hinge to facilitate removal. Never had a screw come out.

Hey thanks alot guys for info. Yeah gonna cut through them and rehinge as Beepee say to do. I dont want the color that the ailerons, rudder and elevator are as of now. Prob go with the standard white star burst cub look. Thanks again guys I do appreciate it lots!!
