Default Question on tinting F16 Canopy

Hi Guys hope you all got home safe after Florida Jets.
I need alittle help here. I need to know the formula for tinting the F16 Canopy amber. I thought at one time I saw sone info on this on BVM's website, But I can't seem to find anything there now. I do know you use rite dye. one of the colors you mix is tangerine and some other color. Does anybody know?
Maybe this is a question for Gordon Dickens??

Default tinting canopy

Paul

I believe it is 2 parts yellow and 1 part tangerine and a cup of salt, that is what I just used on my Bobcat and it worked great, also have the water very hot, not so hot it deforms the canopy buy just shy of that. Seems like that formula came from Gordon Dicken's maybe.

Default Tinting Canopys

Well I went out on a mission this morning and after checking a few store I found the Tangerine and Yellow. I too did not use as much salt and I started. After several coats, and rinsing with cold water between coats it seamed to worked fine. Here is the result. Now I have to check Scale Photos to see how dark it needs to be. Thanks Guys.

Default Tinting

I'm still confused. What is the orange and tangerine? Food coloring? And do you dip the canopy into the hot water? or brush it on?
Thanks

Default Question on tinting F16 Canopy

Rit is a fabric dye and it comes in powder form in small boxes. Available at super markets, Wal-Mart.
What I did was to place hot water from the faucet and added about one qt. of almost boiling water to a bucket that your canopy will fit fully submerged.
I then added the one part sunshine yellow & one part golden orange as I counldn't find tangerine and 1/2 cup of salt. I then Stirred the mix, placed my canopy for about 20 mins. & you get a neat tinted canopy.
Hope this helps.
