Lightening a Midwest G202
OK Im all done with my Midwest G202 with a Moki 120, radial mount and bisson muffler, and fiberglass cowl and wheel pants.
It comes in at a little over 12lbs.! Bummer!!! I built it as plans and it came about a half pound heavy. My question : any ideas on lightening it up now? Or am I stuck with a leadsled?

if not already done, you can go with a carbon fiber lading gear which will save you a few ounzes right there. also, you battery, depending on what kind can be changed for a lighter one if not already done. It's kinda hard to take out weight since it is already constructed. go with light wheels, can even go with a lighter reciever. Spinner can also be replaced, and propeller depending on what type they are, wood propellers are the lightest, and carbon fiber spinners will save you a bit of weight over an aluminum.
Every little ounze here and there add up really fast, before you know it you have a half a pound and more saved. Mybe you have a heavier servo somewhere, that you can save some weight with a different one?
if you really want to save money at this stage, it's not going to cost money to upgrade to the new, lighter materials that are out there.
good luck,
GB
