RE: Pics of a buddies cat
I have asked for pics of her in action. I am not sure we will see video anytime soon as he is on a dial up connection so sending video is pretty much out of the question (dial up is why he asked me to post the pics).
I have asked for pic of his other cats - equally impressive.

RE: Pics of a buddies cat
Hi Guys
Thanks for posting the pictures Matt.
The hull is 54 inches long by 15 inches wide and is my own design that we produce in fibreglass here in NZ.
The original was scratchbuilt as a scale model of Victory 1 and then we took a mold from it.
Because of the length of the hull and the narrow ( 6 inches ) tunnel this boat loves rough water and has won many races where the Aeromarine type boats have all flipped in the waves and wind.
I'll see if I can get some action shots and also a picture of Victory 1 if Matt will be kind enough to post them for me.
Regards
Graham.

By vents I presume you mean the turbine exhausts which were simply scratch built from a couple of pieces of 2 inch plastic tubing painted mat black and then chrome tape applied to look like stainless steel.
Some local clown thought they were ashtrays !
Don't know top speed yet but the much heavier sister ship, Victory 1, has been timed at 90 kph ( 55 mph ) over 100 meters, so Longlite should be a bit quicker being lighter.
The original boat was built 'around' a Zenoah with the carb and exhaust just clearing under the hatch/deck and the spark plug poking into the air vent on top.
The DV style exhaust header makes the tuned length of the exhaust at least an inch too long for max power but I wanted the exhaust concealed inside.

I have to confess the louvre vents on the rear deck are complete fakes.
They are nothing more than silver coloured vinyl with the louvres carefully drawn on in felt pen and then each is covered in a piece of clear vinyl.

Why are you giving away your secrets!!! They looked fairly convincing.
Now you have to buy real louvres and install them.
