Default Monokote attachment to wing saddle

I have a 5 year old Astro Hogg and the problem I'm having is the Monokote that goes along under the saddle between the fuse and wing has seperated and I'm having troubles re-attaching it. I've taken the iron to it, used CA and it still won't stick. There is no oil under this area that I can see. I'm wondering if the RC Z-56 canopy glue would work here??

Thanks,

If you can peel the Monocote back use a contact cement. With a little prep and caution you could use 3M77. The RC56 would probably work, but the stuff is so slow drying! Also, I've never tried it, but there is a CA for plastics.
Just some thoughts,
Walt

If CA won't stick to it, there MUST be oil somewhere.

Clean it good with alcohol. If there's CA residue from past attempts, remove that too (Use Acetone if it won't just peel off)

You might even have to prep the wood if it has gotten the oil soaked in, but if you can't see it, there might not be much. You could probably just poke a bunch of pin holes and let some Thin CA soak in and set before gluing the covering down

I've used CA with this plane and it will stick to the wood just fine but will not stick to the Monokote. So maybe the plastic CA will work... I will clean the Monokote with alcohol, and give it a shot.

Remove the mono-cote that will not stick down. Get this product, and paint it on the
area where the covering has trouble sticking. Using new covering material, re-cover the
area....this stuff will make the new covering stick like crazy, much better than covering
fresh wood with fresh covering.

It could also be wax as well as oil.

Another item that works very well is sigment glue. I use a little smeared at the edges on the firewall, let it tack dry, then heat the monokote over it. It'll stay.

Heh thanks guys, I took some CA for plastic and attached the monokote with that and then after it cured I shrunk the wrinkles all out. For a 5 or so year old plane it looks alot better than it did. If it servives this summers flying, I think I'll recover the fuse. I flew two years ago at a new field and thought I cleared the row of tree's well guess what... I didn't so there is some patch work and you can tell. I used Metallic red and you can see the difference between the old and new roll. The plane flies soooo good that it deserves to be recovered, but for now the wrinkles etc need to be tended too..

Thanks again for all your imput.
