Where do you put the onboard temp guages black sensor thing on the motor? I have mine on the first blue fin on the back of my 3.3 but i think it being affected by header heat. Where do you guys put yours? Post pics please. If it matters it is the traxxas/mip onboard temp one

Most put it two fins up. I wire tied the probe to the EZstart blue wire so it sits by the glow plug. I then wire tied the display to the rollbar so I could see it through the rear cutout of the cab. I'm making a little alumium "l" bracket tomorrow for mounting.

Brushless, basher, it is like a wire ring with a thick spot that measures temp. the wire then connects to the onboard guage-to take it off and in while using the truck would MELT a whole lot of fingers. Anyways it wouldnt just sit there, it would flyy right out.

Put it 2 fins up and try to spin it so the thick part is as far away as possible from the header. I used a zip tie to tie the wire to the roll bar, effectively keeping it from moving.

i just put some velcro on it and put it on the black box on the right side of my car

I use a glow starter too. I put the wire around the bottom of the fins 2 up. and cinch it tight so that's it's all the way in the fin as close to the glow plug as possible. then I run the wire around the side of the rollbar and tuck it into the clip where the fuel line clips too and mount the display on my right front steering servo with velcro. I can read and reset the unit through the front window where I got holes cut out for the airflow to the engine. Just my 2 cents! even if it's reading some heat from the header it's still only that hot near the glow plug. if not hotter. If you can't figure it out run it in the fins near the header as close to the glow as you can and when your reading it add 10 degrees to the temp.

I put the wire on between the 2nd and 3rd fin...and i mount the box ontop of the battery box...but i hate it there because it falls off when the dirt gets on the velcro...
