Help scaling up from plastic kit
Hi All,
I want to build a 1:6 scale Harrier AV8. The problem is there are no plans available or if there is I cant find them?
I have brought a 1:24 scale airfix harrier in the hope that I can use this to draw a plan from.
can any one point me in the right direction? how would I get the fuz cross sections and wing sections from this?
Thanks in advance
Ged

RE: Help scaling up from plastic kit
Use fuse half to get the side view; this will give you height of formers. After drawing fuse side on paper, decide where you want formers and draw them in. cut the other side with a fine saw at the former locations. This gives you half formers. Same with flight surfaces. Scale them up to the size you want. Divide the wing span you want by the w/s of the plastic kit; use this number for all measurements. A ruler in tenths of an inch Or a metric ruler is very handy, as is an electronic caliper.
