Changing to the Bosch shielded sparkplug cap has no effect on engine and ignition performance. It's intended to offer an alternative to the rubber caps and shield the RX and radio system from stray RF [ignition generated noise]. Absolutely not required but it certainly cannot hurt... [/B]

We are returning the rubber cap because of RF noise. That is the only reason. Ran into this problem already with Brison. Bosch cap is recommended by CH. But alot of companies won't use it because it is $10 more.

I am looking forward to seeing one run and will get back to you when I do.

For what it's worth:
I have yet to replace the rubber boots on any of the fifty or so gas engines I have owned with a Bosch cap, granted they are superior for dampening RF noise. If you’re having a noise problem look somewhere else. The rubber boots are the standard of the industry and work fine. You will find that some ignition systems suffer from adequate grounding thus creating a problem. Inspect the ground braid, look for poorly crimped connections and make sure the ground braid is securely attached to the engine and the ignition module.
There are many other areas that are suspect long before the shielded plug cap is an issue. This is not likely your problem. I suggest you look elsewhere.
Have all the bases been covered regarding the proper installation of the radio equipment and the ignition system? Generally the problem exists within the installation.

Here are a few pictures of a BME 50 mounted to a Hangar 9 Edge 540. It is now gone. I sold it last fall.

Finz there dont seem to be any pics there?
How did your ex 540 fly at low speed. When that plane came out there was a lot of talk about it not flying well with the excess weight on this forum.

The pictures will come up if you wait. The Edge was a little heavy with this engine. But WOW did it have power. Hover at 1/4 throttle easy. No it didn't fly like a 33%.
