G38 with Walbro KT6 Carb issue...
Standard disclaimer.... newbie to gas......
Now for the problem. G38(older) installed in plane, tuned w/o cowl, runs great. Put cowl back on idles well, transition could be better (low speed rich), top end falters and sputters. Return to mid-range, runs ok. Remove cowl, restart, everything OK.
Leading contenders......
1) cowl too tight (not enough inflow or outflow) -> motor overheating....
2) carb diaphragm vent getting extra/less pressure than with cowl....
Input would be greatly appreciated as I really don't won't just to keep hacking on the cowl....
Currently I reason that the carb is getting extra pressure (not letting the diaphragm fully expand, thereby running lean at top end).
