Leaving the elec ignition switch on.....problems ??
Will accidentally leaving an electronic ignition power switch on for an extended period of time without the engine running damage the ignition ??
Though this has not happened to me yet, I have on a couple of occassions left my Tx and Rx switched on until their Nicad battery packs were fully discharged. Luckily each time all it needed was a couple of charge /discharge cycles to return the pack to health.

I accidentally left mine (3W brand) turned on for many hours. The battery still had a pretty good charge. they don't draw much when the prop is not spinning. but if you leave it on for days, I suspect it will drain the battery down flat.

Some of the 3-w stuff will turn it's self off if there is no action. That's way the battery is still hot. . You must cycle the switch to turn it on again. Dennis

So far I have not heard anyone say NO it will not damage the ignition circuitry, and that's what I am wanting to hear.

As noted, whether or not you need to worry about draining the ignition battery or harming the ignition module kind of depends on which engines you're running? ZDZ's will also automatically shut off after a brief period of inactivity.
But I'm kind of paranoid about shutting off the ignition battery considering what one of these little guys could do if started inadvertently...[X(]
So I tend to check and re-check whether or not the switch is off multiple times.

The same goes for me too so I now go the extra bit by disconnecting the battery from the circuit when not in use.

I accidentally left mine on for a day/night and no harm was done to the electronics.
I'm now planning to put a voltspy on it to remind me -- and also give me at least some idea of the charge remaining.

i left mine on overnight once on a da 50. Next day it still had power, although i don't remember how much. some ignitions must go into some sort of sleep mode after a certain amount of time when not in use ?
