Default A GOOD motor...?

My friend has a savage , and Ive been runnin circles around him (we just bash) but recently he bought a new motor,a 427 or something. I know its a big block, its cooling head is copper/bronz looking but anyway It made a huge difference. Its pulling the wheels off the ground and has good top end. He had replaced his tranny before w/ a 2 speed but he still couldnt touch me. Ive been out of commision for while so when I come back Im concerned Im gonna loose my title !!

Gimme some suggestions..motors or anything else.

Thanks guys.

Savvy is a HPI Savage. I can sense Howard's delete post stick coming around.

not f that thread, if you took the time to look on there you would find 2 engines that will make you competitive to the mach 427 in your mates savvy, and more importantly making threads when you could just read in another is wasting bandwidth, which is expensive, and that sort of language is unacceptable on these forum.

If you really want just get the same motor because no matter what he does your stil about 4 lbs lighter. You will need a big block mount from New Era Models. Its like $50. The sts .30 is NOT a beginners engines. So i wouldn't recomend it for you.

My brother had a Muggy with that Mach motor in it. I could still beat him in a drag race when my 3.3 Revo was stock.

It probably took you a little time to catch up to him with his center diff.

He always pulled off the line, but then I would make up the ground quick and slowly pull away depending on how much open road we had. The Muggy was nice, but it had terrible clutch problems and they weigh a ton.

lol, you can fit thesame mach 427 in your revo (although you shouldn't worry, the mach 427 isn't to much more powerful then the savvy 4.1 engine so he wont of gained that much)

Your stock revo should still take em

However it may not, but an OS or a Picco Would anti you up again.

Keep in mind, if you dont have a CD (Center Differential) You will wheelie like mad outa the hole, and as a result lose a lot of ground off the line.
(If not outright flip it)

Imo, and very noob at that friend, i would be go Picco(I did recently myself), I'd hazard it has more low rpm grunt for a basher.

But if your hell bent on straight line racing i am sure their are better mills then this.

This is all worth exactly what you paid for it as its all imo.

Peace
WR

i run an RB TM523, and it's flip happy with no CD, you need to learn something called throttle control, not many of us MT guys seem to know what thats means, most MT guys have two speed, idle and WOT.

you'll take him with the 3.3, the O.S isn't much more powerful then the 33, only a little bit, it's just a much nicer engine then the 3.3 because it's so easy to tune and such.
