Default 2.5trx or 3.3 (beginner) help

hey guys, i own a revo 2.5R that i bought off here from somebody which the engine was busted....he will pay someday :@

Ok so, i am 16, and work as a computer technician at my local shop, i am good with all this stuff. I just need experience.
i got some money now and i cant decide which engine will be the best for me. is the 3.3 worth for me? The answer i have been looking for, a long time is what is the difference between a 2.5r and a 3.3? on the traxxas page i see the top speed on the 2.5r is 40+ and 3.3 is 45+. I would think the 3.3 has a faster response to throttle and can catch speed faster than a 2.5r? am i right?. i just want to know so i dont spend an extra 50$ if i am not going to see a big difference, so i have some extra money for parts i may need.

thanks, help appreciated. will check on it later

You will see a differnce but honestly, Get the O.S18TM. I am 16 and work for every penny I spend so I hate to waste money on a terd engine. You will spend around 125ish for a new TM and it'sa direct drop in.

Muggy 250R, you kidding me? The 18TM is defintely faster on the low-end. The 3.3 is decent, nothing special. Picco .26 Max is pretty fast, hopefully when I get it modded it will be up to par with my savage(Picco .28).

He bought the truck there and got screwed.
I would hope he learned from that mistake.
Buy a new TM from Tower, IMHO, a much better choice than the 2.5 or the 3.3 and not really that great a price difference between the three choices and Tower always stands behind their product (that I know for fact, not opinion)
