Default friend needs buying advice

okay...my friend wants to buy a nitro r/c. me and my other friend have 2.5 revos...but mine will soon have a picco .26 in it. but my question is my friend only wants to spend in the 300-400 mark. i didint want to reccomend a rustler because driving with revo's the thing would constantly be breaking because its not made for the abuse a revo is. so i was thinking something like a t-maxx 2.5r? any other suggestions? we're trying to stay away from ebay at the time but it might be a last resort.

thanks.

I would say t-maxx but if the rest of you have Revos, he may be disappointed with the maxx. Personally, I think it would be worth his money to save up a a bit more and get the Revo. That way you would all be running on equal platforms and the big plus would be that you would all have interchangeable parts so you could help eachother out with spares in the event that one of you breaks a part and another guy has an extra laying around.

thats what i was thinking but according to him it is out of the picture...its wayy too much for him...he only has 180 right now and he would have to work the entire summer for it. i dont think he takes it as seriously as my friend and i do which is why i think he wants something cheaper. but i just looked on the RCU market and there are same deals. revo's RTR for under 300...this is defently a possibility.

all summer=10 weeks? give or take, so he has 180... minus that from 400 is 220...OK then he makes 22 bucks a week?? I think he needs a new job...I am olny 16 and can make 180-220 a week at my job. If he is 13-15 start mowin lawns or someting.

a revo 3.3 is 500 plus all extras...so 180 - say 550 w/ battery and charger and fuel is 370. the only way he can get money is working at one house. yard work for 7 bucks an hour. and there is only so much to do. everyone on his street sre rich people and they have some company cut their yards.

i'd say probably a savage or monster gt, they're both good and cheaper then a revo, but a t maxx will leave much to be desired if he's running with revos.
