Yeh man, those cheap futabas you found are probably the '3pm' ones. Great radios, the best budget FM radios in my opinion, they have all the major adjustments. Airtonics MX3 is also worth considering.

What is diff between am and fm?
amplitude modulation (AM): usually cheap, genreally have few features, poorer range, more susceptible to glitching. Can be interfered with by things like power lines etc. more likely to recieve interference from other radios.

frequency modulation (FM): More expensive, generally have more features, better range, less susceptible to glitches.

Yes. I think that most (if not ALL) cheaper RCs come with an AM radio. SO there likely wouldnt be problems with interference.

Ok. I have a couple questions maybe you can help me on the spektrum radios.

If I buy the full system for a car, but want to be able to drive an addition car with that same radio what do I need? Just another reciever? They don't use chips so I guess I would just have to program the radio for an additional reciever?

Also,

Do you need a failsafe on the computer radio like spektrum?
