Revo racing with truggys???
So I followed almost all the instructions of Steve Slayden on Revo suspension setup, lowered the Revo, and installed a tekno wing mount and wing. I also have single steering and rpm arms.
The track owner saw my revo and asked when I was going to participate in one of the truggy races. It seemed weird to me because I keep hearing all the time that truggys are a lot faster than the revos, and I thought that the revos only have a chance of winning if it's a monster truck race.
So what is it? What makes a truggy more race worthy? If I do participate in a truggy race, will I have a chance? The only actual performance upgrade I have on my revo is the O.S. 21TM. Everything else is pretty much stock.

You need the center diff as well that will make loads of difference in racing.
Truggies are lower. Have a center diff. Most have bigger engines. Buggy suspension setup and lower center of gravity and a wider stance.
That being said I was out at the local track this past weekend running with a Losi 8ight-T Truggy and I was passing it. All about the driver.

Ya, a revo setup right should be able to run with Truggys IMHO.

they should make a revo class because it is mostly faster than most regular monster trucks and it has the different suspension and you can get a center diff with it.

If a Revo sould be in its on class then the muggy sould be in one too. The Revo is more a MT then the Muggy but yet it races in the MT class

Center Diff transfers power from front to rear or vis versa as needed. It enables you to push through turns faster as you can keep the power down on the wheels and keep the RPMs up on the engine as you exit the turn. With the Center Diff on thre revo you will need the rear brake as well. This will allow you to set brake bias. Nice for getting the rears to lockup before the fronts so you can swing the rear out in a turn or so. Just an example. Hope this helps. Center Diff will also eliminate wheeling.

Correct me if I am wrong but a Muggy is 1/8th scale as the Revo is 1/10. Muggy has wider stance and as the Truggy forum says is not a true truggy, which is what the Losi-8ight T is. Revo can compete in the Monster Open classes with Truggies and so can the Muggy. I think Truggies should have there own class away from MT. Muggy is a cross bread.

To me no. I like reverse, but when racing reverse is illegal and to heavy. If I were just bashing around I would of kept Reverse as it is nice to have in tight spots.

RE: Revo racing with truggys???
would you say get a center diff if you have a big block so it wouldnt wheelie all the time and just handle so much better cause of the power distribution
