Default Do you cut air holes in body?

Having a stadium truck in the past, you had to cut air holes for cooling. With the T-maxx I am not sure its needed as bad? The motor sticks up out of the body. So, I would like to hear how many cut cooling holes and where. I seen one person put screen over there holes, looked cool!

yeah i do...they do overheat pretty easy so cutting a hole in the body is a good idea.

If you choose not to cut air holes in the body, while running with the body you'll have an upped chance of overheating your engine. The whole point of the holes in the body is to allow airflow to access the engine so that everything stays cool in there and nothing overheats.

I drilled about 12 small holes in the wind shield that allow air to flow in but would prevent any thing less than a very small rock from getting in. It's up to your personal choice, but I think just about anyone on here will agree to make some effort to up the air flow.

I have never cut holes in any of my bodies and my engines have never overheated, yes they run a bit hotter but who cares?

I'll be honest about it and say I could probably richen up my engine and not worry, but then I'd sacrifice the very lil umph a 2.5 has to offer

now we all know that would effect the support of the body and it would most likely cave in because there would be no support.

just cut whatever you want..use some old window screen cut your pieces about 1/2 inch bigger than the hole and tire glue it to the body on the inside...I've done this and its held up to almost 2 gallons of abuse from me did not distort the body at all...I also cut an opening in the back window directly in front of cooling head that works well....the other thing that helps airflow is mounting your body as low on the chassis as possible exposing the maximum amount of cooling head to airflow.
have fun with it. Its a hobby
