Default Is this what I think it is ?

I have an idea that what I have here is a Sachs 4.2

It is out of a Byron warbird and has never been ran. I wish to sell it but don't want to give any misleading explanations.

Can anyone confirm what this is ?

Cheers, Bob

Default is it what.

the edge. well it looks like it might be a Sachs on a Brison case with manual C/H ignition.
look on the fron of the cylinder flange or the back side and there should be some numbers also look on the carb for a number. that will help in identifying it.

A&M 4.2..
Look at the end of the crank..If it's smooth the crank is an A&M, not the best...If there's a small hole in the end of the crank it's a Sachs, none better.....If you can't see the end of the crank look at the con rod, a copper plated rod is Sachs, steel color is A&M...
If the two bottom case bolts are parallel to the top ones the engine is a Walker, not likely but possible...Walker is good....

Default Ralph, I knew you would come through

Thanks.
I guess I need to put a wrench to it as I take it you mean the aft end of the crank.
Here is a shot from the rear of the case

No I cannot identify it, sorry cause I'm new at the large scale engines but it is a really nice piece of workmanship IMHO, if I had the $$$ I would make an offer, looks like an excellant setup for a 1/4 scale P-51.
But something tells me it is a custom job, the lower case looks milled, the cylinder does spell MAHLE to me.

Default From what I have learned thus far

Thanks to Ralph again,,,

It is an A & M 4.2

This engine is a shoe in for the Bryron Corsair.
