Scotch blue painter's tape, handy thing
Scotch blue painter's tape is something that I found was handy to have around. It is great for holding down canopies while the RC-56 glue is drying. I use it to hold and position Monokote while ironing it on. I found a new use for it today. I needed to place pin holes in a wing for a 3/4" x 6' stripe on a wing and wanted to make sure I didn't make holes outside the 3/4" width. The tape is 1" wide so I trimmed it to 3/4" with a straight edge and placed on it on the wing used the tape as a guide for punching the holes. The tape makes it hard to use a Woodpecker without using a lot of pressure so I just used a single pin.

The blue tape has many uses. If you ever spray paint anything, use it to mask. They now have a low tack tape that is wonderful for tapeing off things that have been painted. I have not had any issue's with paint coming up with the tape. Good Luck, Dave

One other neat thing I discovered about the blue painters tape. I was using it hold the two halves of a 1/6 scale Williams Brother pilot together and noticed I could use it to make a shirt for the pilot. The overlaps don't show and the tape has a nice fabric look. You might have a few small wrinkles but hey that is realism, right.

I use it to hold parts down on plans and for holding drilling jigs when drilling holes for pin hinges.
Lots of other uses like holding sheeting together while gluing to make a larger sheet.

I use it a lot when doing repairs to sheeting on the wings or fuse so as not to scuff up the monokote when sanding the repaired spot.

This is more on the electric foamy side of things, but if you need to bend depron for wing caps or anything. Use the blue painters tape on one side of the depron and start bending. The tape will keep the foam from creasing when your trying to bend it.
