Hi.

I have good compression and she starts on one flip (with CH Jump Start). I'm running a 22X10 Zinger. But I'm only getting about 6200RPMs and all I've heard say I should expect 7000 - 7200. I have rebuilt the carb and the fuel is new. The only mod is to the stock muffler. There are 3 pipes (about 3 inches long) welded to the three holes. It makes it nice and quite for sure, but is this where I'm loosing RPMs do you think?

Thanks

Colin, back to your original problem, I do believe that the stock muffler needs to go. If you are not too worried about noise then you can put a B&B exhaust diverter (I hesitate to call it a muffler) and it will improve your performance. Bisson, Sonic and others make good mufflers that have much better performance than the stock muffler but they also cost more.

My G-62 will turn a Zinger 22x10 about 400 rpm faster than it will turn an NX 22x10. However, the performance improvement with the NX is very noticeable. Get a good quality prop such as Xoar, Menz, Mejzlik, BME, NX, 3W.............

Tune the engine (making sure it's not too lean) and go fly. Once you make these improvements, you can quit stressing over it.

Good Luck

Call CH Ignitions and buy their Jump Start (about $60). You'll be glad you did. Mine starts in one flip after choking real wet directly into a putt, putt idle. Nice.

Colin, I 100% agree with you. I have 2 G62s with Jump Start and a good friend has one on his G62. It is really worth the money and very light weight.

...then you can do the two finger flip, just barely getting it through the compression to start it, instead of using a fully gloved hand, as beads of sweat form on your brow, wondering if this is the time you are going to get kicked hard
