One gallon paint can for fuel tank in field box
Has anyone ever tried a new 1 gallon paint can for a tank in their field box. I know here at the hardware store you can buy new clean paint cans for a few bucks. Thanks.

I use a 1 gal can that paint thinner comes in with a screw on cap. But I wouldn't even consider the bucket that paint comes in (if that's what you are referring to.)

Yes I was refering to a 1 gallon paint can/bucket. It seals up tight. Why wouldnt it work?

I suppose it would work to some point but after
removing the cover several times to fill the thing,
it's sealing ability might become questionable.
I use the paint thinner type can with a screw on cap as well.

If UV is an issue just get a 1 gallon red plastic gas can at Walmart for $5 and mark it "GLOW FUEL"
You can buy new metal cans for about $3 each.

The one issue I can see with metal cans is they they will rust over time..
Our Alcohol based fuels love to absorb moisture.

I alo like the durability. Plus, mine is powder coated red. Can't do that with plastic!
