dose putin R diff in up side down??
I brock my rear bulk heads today an when i went to put the diff back in, the collar that lock in the bh"s came off didnt notice what way it went back on so i just put on, an i think thats why its runs backwards rt im a newbie at so i thought id ask[sm=red_smile.gif][sm=red_smile.gif] im going to change it back tomarrow

Yes you can install them upside down and yes, it will make the truck run backwards providing you have both front and rear differentials installed upside down. If you only removed one differential and reinstalled it upside down, the truck will not move with all four wheels on the ground When you install one diff upside down and lift the front off the ground and pull the truck forward, the front tires will spin backward. Push the truck across the floor. If it rolls freely and you only removed and installed one differential, you reinstalled it properly.

Doesn't matter if it's 2wd or 4wd. Flip the differential over in the bulkheads on an s-maxx and you will have a 2wd truck that only goes in reverse.

Flyingjato, don't take this correction the wrong way as I am not trying to bust your chops or anything. I have a buddy that swapped out his diff on his s-maxx in my shop and put the new one in upside down. Started it and the the thing took off like a streak in reverse. The look on his face was priceless.....lol Had another bud install a new diff in the front of his revo. He didn't notice the "up" arrow on the diff and got it in upside down. Brought it to my shop and tossed it on the floor and instead of rolling, it just stuck to the floor because the front diff was trying to turn the wheels the opposite direction of the back. Yet another priceless moment.

oh no i don't care nothing personal at all..I just can't comprehend how the can happen but if i think about it i can uderstand..I would have loved to be there...Would have been funny if he started the revo and went to drive it...lol

It's a forward only transmission. Not a foc (which means forward only conversion) which is what you have to do to a truck that has reverse and you want a forward only transmission.
Also, it's a 2wd truck so dirt would only be thrown one way, the wrong way, toward the front, if the diff was put in backward. And even if it were a 4wd truck and the rear diff got put in backward all the dirt would go towards the center of the truck and not both ways - meaning front and back.
