Sounds like a Brison 3.2 to me, if it has the blue anodise case. My 3.2 has he chrome style, but I heard they later switched to the blue anodised. Sorry I tried to check the numbers on the cylinder of my 3.2 but can't see them with the cowel on.

back in the early 2000's the Brison line up was:

2.4 = natural aluminum case
3.2 = blue anodised case
4.2 = gold anodised case
5.? = green anodised case
6.4 twin = blue as well.

I had a 3.2, it was blue. (also a 6.4 twin and still run the 4.2 in one of my planes).

thanks I am sure the blue anodized case and the model number can be matched with a 3.2 the larger one is over 6 lbs and turns a 26x10 zinger at 6430 rpms.so I am sure its the 5.8 and the model number on the last one matches up with a 4.2

First 2 numbers cast on lower lip at the front of the cylinder will tell you the bore size in "mm". 40 is 2.4ci, 44 is 3.2ci, 47 is 3.7ci, 49 is 4.2 ci. Not sure what 5.8 is.

If it's blue, it's a 3.2. It's also stamped on the mounting backplate.

I also have a blue 2.4 that I got from Gary back in the 90's and blue 3.2 I got around 2002. The 2.4 looks exactly like the one outssider has in the picture.
Look at the exhaust bolts, if they go straight across it's a 3.2 but if there staggered it's a 2.4. thats the way mine are anyway.
Try to PM rcign, if anyone would know it's him.

Ya got me on that one. The muffler bolts are a good call. Most of his engines had the size stamped somewhere on the backplate, usually without a decimal point.

My 4.2 has the Gold case and the numbers match up. By the way, mine is serial number 9! It probably has a tremendous 'collectible' value, right?
