engine acting odd 3.3
Run my revo yesterday around the back yard, and it just didn't run right. I had a hard time getting it started, had to give it some gas, it wouldn't idle, but after it warmed up it was good, and would idle, but every once in a while after a high speed, or medium speed run it would just die. I had the temp gun out and it was running around 220 to 250. When i would go to restrt it, it took a couple times of startting and giving it some gas to keep it running, then it would be good for another 10 minutes or so, kinda like it needed to be warmed up, but it was still around 220 to 250 range. I took it back to factory settings on the carb, and then adjusted for a nice blue stream of smoke through the entire power range, but it just doesn't seem to be running the way it was prior. I have about a gallon and a half trhough the motor. Any ideas.....I also put a new glow plug in it, but that didn't seem to make a difference.

seems to me like your idle is set to low, screw the idle screw in 1/4 turn and see if that helps, also your running a bit cool, so you may wanna lean it a little.

I kinda thought that too about the idle, but once it's "warmed up" it idles perfect, then just dies once in a while. I think i will give it a shot tonight though, looks like I am just gonna have to tinker a bit on the carb settings, thanks.

RE: engine acting odd 3.3
when the engines cold there more resistance because everything hasn't expanded like i does once it's at operating temps, so once it's t operating temps it may just be idling high enough to overcome the resistance in the engine, but when it's cold there to much friction, i've just had a bit of a fake idle problem with my new mach 427 (sorted it out with a little tuning), the idle screw is one of the most annoying screw on the carb except for on 3 needle carbs, just takes some time to know what to look for.
