I have 4 recommendations....
Rc10Gt Plus.. makes more power than the Losi.... IN my opinion
great truck
Losi XXXNT Sport.... way better radio setup .... great truck.
Nitro Rustler... with the new TRX 2.5(.15 CI) major power house!!
Duratraxx Nitro Evader......I think this truck will be a very good done. OS engine(largest in class),threaded shocks, ball differential.... should be a great truck.

I would suggest the new Traxxas SportMaxx. It's a somewhat stripped down TMaxx for around $319.00. Basically you loose reverse, two speed and 4 wheel drive. You get a tough truck, the 2.5 engine (very powerful for a .15), electric starter and a vehicle worth upgrading.
This should be a great back yard basher and if you want to go to a track, lower the suspension put on some Pro-line bow tie tires and have fun.
With the purchase of the battery, charger, receiver batteries and fuel you still should be slightly under $400.00.
Other vehicles I'd recommend would be the RC10GT, Losi XXXNT Sport and Nitro Rustler. These are all stadium trucks and are not quite as good as an off road basher but do well enough.

I have recently been looking at the Traxxas Nitro Rustler 2.5. This thing is freaking fast! I just watched a video on www.traxxas.com , and it was very impressive. I wouldn't mind having one.
