RE: Bandit ARF arrives!
Id be keen to hear how it goes with a wren 54.
Ive got a 54 mk2 so only 12lbs of thrust, our field is somewhat limited. My boomerang gets off, as does a savex L39, its probably the 200ft that BVM suggest for the Bandit.
Does anyone else have accounts of grass takeoff rolls and what to expect on 12lbs (ish) of power?
Alternatively if someone wants to buy my engine, i can upgrade to a supersport!!

The Wren 54 MK II is supposed to be 14 lbs, not 12 lbs unless you have run it and measured 12 then you may want to take to Wren.
I had a SS on my Bandit ARF and it flew great, but this was from asphelt. I saw Dustin fly his Band it at FJ a lot and it had a P60. I talked to him in some details about it. The performance was very good if not great for a small engine like that. Dustin's Bandit was hanging in there with a 40+ lbs power of Dave's Ultra Bandit!!!!

Dustin's Bandit probably took off around a 100 ft or so. I also asked about this sweet jet and combo. 11 min flights and easy 200 mph. Dustin and David flew the heck out of this Bandit. It flies powerfly off the P-60. Rollout would be a little slow but once you get the her up, it is a really clean flying plane. Oh yea, Bandit w/60 stated right with the huge Ultra Bandit. David and Ali put on a great show towards the end.

Sorry I mis understood. the MKIII has the 14 lbs!! I did see the take off rolls, no problems on asphelt with a P60 (Andrew, I think it was a lot more than 100 feet [8D]). I can't imagine it on grass thu unless the grass is extremely short and you have tons of runway, not sure so do not take my word for it...
