Jetcat auto altitude hold
I have the need for an automatic altitude hold for my model.
I was thinking about using the Jetcat speed sensor but instead of using it to detect speed use it to detect altitude.
If you block up the pitot tube (but not the static vent) wouldn't the unit then convert to a crude altimeter?
Maybe you budding private/air transport pilots can shed some light on this for me.
The ouptut could then be used to alter the throttle and/or elevator servo.

Altitude hold
You might take a look at the Perry Design units, 'UNAV', I believe is their website. I think they have such a device, and other devices that might work for you. The BTA06 auto pilot has a barometric hold function. Think to the Futaba PA1 would serve the same purpose, or FMA co-pilot. In each case, I think you'd have to fly to the altitude you want and turn the unit on. If you want to climb to a predetermined altitude and hold, I don't have a clue-would like to hear your solution.
