Default makeing fiberglass cowl

can any one tell a bit about fiber glass.I have a old 40 sequi plane i bought at a flea market for $20.00 it has a realy good air frame.i have striped it and plan to recover it. but it has a PVC cowl that is in really bad shape.is it possible to use it for a mold. warp it in fiber glass or epoxy and make it stronger and refinish it.

A couple of ways do do this. If the shape is ok, then fill it with plaster and use that to make a male mold. Use LOTS of mold release and make a female over it. Then take off the female and make a new cowl with slow epoxy and lightweight cloth for the first layer, then heavier layers inside.
