buy a new bearing and try it, if with a brand new bearing it does it again strait away you need a new starter shaft.

yeah its gone man you need a new one, when my maxx was doing that i just left it in my 1:1 car with the heater on untill i was ready to fire it up, it helped and i use a pull start... if you use a ez start you can drill a small hole in the ez case to spray wd40 in there before you start it, that will help...

Not necessarily. How old is it first? It could be gone if its old, has lots of starts on it, and when it slips you keep cranking and cranking and cranking hoping it will grab. That can reduce the diameter of your starter shaft and then you will need a new shaft. Try this before you buy a new one. Remove the bearing and soak it in WD40 for about an hour. Wipe off all the excess WD-40. Then apply a few drops of synthetic motor oil to the OWB. Reinstall and try it. What Fuel are you using? If its Top Fuel, which is high in oil content, then thats contributing to your slippage. I changed to Trinity Monster Horsepower which has less oil. I did the cleaning, changed fuel, and have never had another OWB slip on my T-MAXX. Give it a shot, what do you have to lose? Everyone has WD40 at home right? If you dont have synthetic motor oil, it only costs a few dolllars a quart. Youll have a life time supply of oil for future cleanings if needed. Or maybe you have a neighbor that will give you a few CC's?

that's right drill a hole so dirt can get in there. then you'll end up having other problems, instead of just fixing the first one
