Fixed up wheely king vs. Ax10 Scorpion
I have been tinkering with my wheely king for the past three days.
Man, you guys are right, this stuff is addicting. Question: Will a WK with stage 1 rock crawling tweaks performs less, equal to, or better than a stock AX10?
Another question, if I wanted to buy another rock crawler, should I buy an AX10 or custom build one?

For a first timer, the AX-10 is the way to go. You'll learn what works and what doesn't. Starting out trying to built a full-on custom rig might be a bit overwhelming. Especially since you wouldn't know really where to start. Start with the Scorp, see what need improvement and modify from there. Once you do that, you'll have the knowledge to build a chassis/link setup that incorporates all the changes you made to the Scorpion kit.
As for AX-10 vs. Stage 1 WK:
AX-10 for the win. The Wheely Kings biggest draw back is the battery in the back. Strapping a smaller battery to the front or swapping the chassis around helps, but from what I've seen at our little gatherings is that the AX-10 is still superior.
