First how much are you willing to spend. I recommend looking it to a DSM over the FM if you can afford it. NO chance of frequency conflict and many other reasons better then FM.

RE: Radio Suggestions???
decent FM radio is the JR XS3. its synthesized so no crystals to worry about, it runs retail for 199.99 but you can pick up brnad new ones off ebay for alot cheaper, i actually picked one up for 96.99 with a receiver but no servos.. BUT if i were you i trully would get a psectrum type system, you can pick up a nice spektrum dx3 perfect for nitro for 200. or again ebay it for cheaper. once you go spread spectrum you never want anything else.

Go with Spectrum! You dont want to have to upgrade later like I did. Futaba 3PM is a good choice also. You can have up to 10 models with one controller. Just need to buy receivers for additional RC's.

RE: Radio Suggestions???
IMO , the DX3.0 is $250 and only has a 4 model memory . For an extra $70 you can get the DX3R which has a 30 model memory and more features and functions . The 3pm has 10 model memory and has some nice features . If i was you I would compare either the 3PM and DX3R . For the price I`d go with 3PM , but I like the features and options the DX3R has . Comparing the DX3.0 and 3PM as you narrowed it to , I`d go with 3PM . Unless you can spend the $ for DX3R , then I`d go for that .

RE: Radio Suggestions???
The Nomadio react.
All I've read have been great reviews, plus you can get whatever you want for it via the internet. You can download software and even get a simulated 4th channel. You can get them cheap at some places. There's a North Carolina hobby store that has them for about the price of a DX3.0. Reasearch it a bit, it's a great radio.
