The savage is tough and can be made racing friendly but out of box it would get smoked by any buggy or truggy on the track. The suspension needs to be tweaked in order for it to compete with a Revo on the track. It is also the hardest to work on but the least likely to break.

Since you are posing this question on the Savage section, I think you already made up your mind.

savage is the best basher out of the bunch but takes lots of work to compete with the revo on the track.

if your sure your going to race i'd say the revo.its still a great basher but when it comes to track time its got a head up on the savage.

I own all three. They all have a special place in MT. From what I have read in your post, I recommend Traxxas. Easier, faster and still has decent bash capability. The Savage is a different beast, very durable and dependable but out of the box its not as fast as the TMAXX or Revo 3.3. All three are freakin awesome okay? Im trying to decide while writing this post, I guess thats why I own all three.............screw it, go with the Savage. It has its own community of loyal owners for goodness sake!

Same as Surpluzz, I have a Revo, T-Maxx, and a Savage X. every truck has different aspects... the best for bashing is the Savage! Racing is that I prefer the Revo... as everyone said in here that you can make a Savege a racing truck but its gonna cost you a little bit than the Revo and T-Maxx.

go with the savage the t-maxx is really slow and the revo is alright i guess it pains me to say that though. get a savage.

the traxxas easy start system is a waste of money it will break easily and the savage has a roto start system that works all the time.
all in all get the savage it is really strong and fast once its tuned right.

The TMAXX 3.3 is faster than the Savage stock. The REVO and TMAXX are great products. Maybe you should broaden your horizons. I do agree that the Savage is tougher. I wouldnt offer my opinion if I didnt own all three.
