Spruce Goose plans anyone?

RE: Spruce Goose plans anyone?
Not sure where to find plans, but wasn't there a large model of one in that Howard Hughs movie a few years ago? Seems I remember an article in Model Aviation magazine about the airplane and power system. I could be wrong though as my memory is about shot!

You might try contacting these people. I just visited this museum where the Spruce Goose now lives. What a museum!!! There is an R/C flying site right on the grounds. I was speaking to one of the volunteer docents (also an r/c pilot) and he said they are building another model of the Goose right now. He mentioned the plans that were in MA a few years ago and said they were nowhere near scale.

I was just there too. Didn't have much luck getting any info like that from them. It was kind of an odd feeling there. Must have been too close to quitting time for them.

FLYBOY,
I did not get that at all! In fact, I almost had to be rude to the gentleman I was talking to just to get away! I did not, however ask for any plans or such. I did get the feeling though, that (at least the guy I was chatting with) was an active member of the R/C club as well as a volunteer on staff that had a hand in building some of the models that were on display there, so I may have just found the right guy.
At any rate, it was a great museum! Even my wife and kids seemed to enjoy themselves! My wife told me for the first time that she doesn't care for "those old prop planes" but "I really like the jets!" hmmmm..........Do I smell kerosene in the near future??!!!!!!

Astro

RE: Spruce Goose plans anyone?
I contacted Bill Hempel about the R/C H4, and he said that he did fly it but he didn't build it. He didn't have any plans available for the Spruce Goose, and had no idea where to get them. I also contacted the people at http://www. spruce goose.org/, and got nowhere. I'm scratching my head about where to get a set of plans to build a scale R/C model of the H4. If anyone can enlighten me on where I can find a set, please let me know.
