Default vintage gas hull

Hi guys, I have some questions about my old boat, I have had this since 94 its my first and only gas boat. Its an old hull made by a company called mini marine, its called a typhoon 2. I found an old add in a rc boat modeler mag from 1992 but thats all I have ever seen about it. I have done a few searches but found nothing. Has anyone ever heard of it? Heres a picture of the add. It seems to be a well built hull, maybe a bit heavy but I really enjoy jumping big waves with it so thats probably a good thing. It runs about 40 mph with a modified sears weed whacker engine, It weighs around 13 lbs, is that average for a gas boat? and what makes a mono hull outdated? I hear monos are going faster than ever now and wonder what the diference is in hull design and if its time I updated. I have a new zenoah on the way and wonder if this old hull will do ok with that much more power? I have only seen one other gas boat run in my life so I dont have much to compare it to. Thanks. Mike M
