Ez Start 2 glow plug light HELP

Ez Start 2 glow plug light HELP
OK I have change my glow plug a few times now and thats not the problem.
When i stick my ez start 2 wand in my Traxxas nitro sport my engine turns over but the little light that says glow plug wont turn on and it wont start.
Don't know if this will help or not but
Facts
My glow plug wire has been stripped for a day or two and has been touching my head.
If I put the stripped part of the wire up against the head the glow plug light will light up not sure if I should be doing that.
Last half an hour I was trying to fix it my ez start wand has been getting pretty hot on the top.
I even cut off the freakin part that grabs on the the glow plug and replaced it with an alligator clip.
PLEASE HELP ME
