Do a search on Google and youtube and you should find some links. Yes there are RC tractor pulls most look like they are custom made.

that's the kind of stuff i'm looking for, anyone in so. calif doing this? i get bored if i'm not making something new. i have a workable idea for steering brakes, i noticed the pullers don't have them. i'm going to create a steering brake system and test it out.

You would need an open differential would you not? Full size tractors have a differential lock pedal and individual brake pedals for each wheel. You could mimic the individual brake pedals with a nitro brake on each wheel and a servo hooked up to both but the differential lock would be tricky.

i was thinking about placing pads around the outboard axle hubs. then use two servos, one for the wheels and one to tighten the pads to the hubs. i figure it shouldn't be too hard since the limited slip trannies really put power to the looser wheel.

that seems complicated, but really cool. I remember watching those when I was younger. it would be cool to see some more of those in the rc world

I do R/C pulling with NR/CTPA and County Line R/C Pullers. I have 2 Big Rigs, a Clod Buster, and a Pro-Stock tractor that may soon be a 4WD truck.

Most pullers use a solid rear axle, just a shaft with a spur gear and 2 big wheels. I guess we can't tell how this compares to an open diff with steering brakes untill someone tries steering brakes. I know you like to pioneer and will get bored soon..........

If you ever try anything please post it, most pulling threads are in the crawling forum because most people that visit it respect innovation.
