Default traveling with your planes

Greetings all I was hopeing someone might have an idea that I have not thought of for how we can get our planes to places we are traveling.
Here's my problem. I want to go to a smalls event in Little rock. I am in Corpus Christi Tx. I will be flying. So how do I get my planes to littlerock. Is there a safe way to take them on the plane. If so luggage or carryon?

Thanks for any input you may have.

I'va carried 2 zagiis in a hard sided checked bag, but they are easy. When I went to California, I sent two fun-fly planes via GreyHound to a guy that a friend said was reliable. That worked fine for me, and only cost $20 each way.

Digger you forgot to mention the size of planes. If you have a %50 extra I guess it would be hard to talk the gate agent into letting you count it as a carry on.

Default trans porting

If there is a Greyhound station in Little Rock, would it be possible to send it to your self there and pick it up.

Thanks for the responses guys, I had not thought of using greyhound. The planes in question are rather small. 24 in wing, and a 36 in wing. If I were to carry one or both of them on the plane, what would security say about the electronic components?

I think I will be shipping them ahead, but any other good idea would still be considered.

Thanks again

Just make sure you tell them exactly what they are and what they're for. Not sure what the scanners do to the electrical components though.

The AMA has been addressing this situation over the past few months in the magazine. You might want to check out the web site or drop them an Email with your particulars.

What hard case are you using for the zagi? Can you shoot me a picture? [email protected]

Sorry Sean,

Gave it to a friend for his speed wings. But it was just a very large, hard case with some foam added for safety. I use removable wing tips made of coroplast, and that helped.

I have heard of people using golf bags to transport models on planes. Checked in luggage of course.
But with today's increased security, who knows.
