I thought it was just considered income that when it came time to do taxes you just got taxed on it? Im going to look into it. It would suck to only get $300 back next year on my taxes blah.

From the IRS itself: The stimulus payment will not reduce or increase your refund when you file your 2008 return. I was wrong about what I said earlier...................this is free money per se.[8D]

The deficit is money that we don't have yet. In other words it has yet to be payed, like a lone. They will have to raise taxes to balance the deficit in the long run.
