Default Composite Kangeroo

I have just finished a modified composite Kangeroo. The modification I have done is to lower the engine by several inches in a moulded tunnel. Whilst my first roo was fun I decided this mod would make a sweeter flying plane.
The question is can I shorten the noseleg now? The Gear I got with the kit has the model sitting quite nose high, necessary with a powerful engine and a high thrust line but makes landing the beast a bit of a chore. A shorter noseleg would make the thing stick better but will I still have problems rotating?
Has anyone out there done this mod? Any thoughts would be welcome.
Txs
John.
