Steve -

I am located here in SD and am fortunate to have access to a local flying site that is Jet-friendly (at least, till fire season begins... ) ...something you will discover is not easy to find here in SoCal.

PM or Email me, you are welcome to come out some weekend and tickle the sticks of my big Boomerang XL on a buddy box. In return, I want to pick your brains a bit about the Waco and Moki combo...I have an RCS250 radial myself and am looking for a home to fit it into.

Steve,

As new to jets myself. I have tried a few planes. I found that the coposite Bandit BVM with a p-60 in it flyes great and very slow to land. and looks like a jet by the way or even more fun and almost lands itself [:-] is the Comp arf Euro sport and that is a very afordable plane. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks George, the offer is valid only here in San Diego...if you can make it out here, you can fly my Boomer as well.

Steve, just give me a call or Email me if you'd like to come out to see some jet in action - there are 3 or 4 of us who regularly fly turbines at the MCAS Miramar club field. I will be out this weekend with the Boomer, a Tam's F-16, and (hopefully) test fly my JL L39.

If you like to build, the Reaction 54 is hard to beat as a first jet, Steve.

I concur with the Reaction recommendation. I had one for a while (it's now on its 3rd owner) and it is a great intro to jet flying. I called it my "Ugly Stik" jet, as it was as easy and fun to fly as the old (original) Jensen design.

But the Boomer can't be beat (in any size) if you prefer sport jets in ARF form and is much more versatile overall, IMHO.

For a sport jet I concur... R54 for builders and Boomer for ARFers

Hi Barry,

Look at what you did to me after you sold me your Cyclone a few years ago! here are my new rides. This is an addiction and I've found no cure! I got Major "Bear" decal ready for my Chippy Ho.

Just want to say thank you for being the first guy sucking me into this.

Steve,

Spring Valley, huh? Not too far away. Do you shop at Discount Hobbies? John Weaver over there is getting into jets pretty serious, too. He's got several half-finished projects over there.

I've got a shop in Normal Heights where I've got two Yellow Aircraft F-18s (the big ones) and a Yellow Aircraft F-22 taking turns on the building table. You're welcome to stop by and take a look around any time. Give me a call if you're interested. 619-944-7574. Welcome to jetting!

Looks great, Mike! Yes, it is an addiction...

I've gotten 3 people into jets now, if all the jet vendors/mfrs they have bought from paid me a 5% commission, there would be a shiny new UltraBandit...or Twin F-18...fully paid for in my hanger...[8D]

Enjoy!! PM me if you are ever in town long enough to come down and fly w/us here in SD.

Hi,

It's not a shop like "store", but shop like "workshop". I got a workshop because I have too much of my own stuff in my home shop (garage). I build my own stuff at home, and other people's jets in the shop.

yes, they are all custom painted by my club crew/builders. I can't stand the plastic looking, exposed seamlines on the original JL products. We sanded them down, filled up the seam lines, air bubbles etc. a week of work on each one of these.
