Default Need a favour from you guys for HBKv2, thanks

Hi,

Got my HBK2 for 2 months, been flying this good heli well until the brushed motor burnt out. I am thinking of getting it a Esky brushless set, here i need a favour from you:

1) esky says ek5-0080 brushless set is for HBK2, this set has EK5-0004 (3100kv), EK1-0350 esc and 10T gear. However what i am interested is EK5-0081 which has Ek5-0005 (3900kv). I wonder if this 3900kv brushless set suites HBK2 though it's stated that it is for Belt CP? is it does any mods need?

2) Which power capacity and discharge rate would you recommend if i get the above brushless set?

appreciate your help, cheers.

regards
Roy

The 3900 is fine for the King, and is a straight drop-in replacement of the stock motor. I'd recommend starting with a 9T pinion, but a 10 will be OK if you have the stones and batteries for it.

This is a 17 amp motor, so you'll want a battery that can minimally push 17A continuous. A 1000mah/20C LiPo would do fine, but you'd get better balancing and longer flights from something in the 1200-1350mah/20C range. Anything larger would start pushing the weight envelope. The King is best flown as light as possible.

The 3800 will give a bit more torque for flying outside

I agree with Shizack.. I fly a 3900 with a 10t pinion. The 3900 is a direct drop in.

Thanks guys i think i am getting 3900kv for my hbk2. The battery i will take will be 1500mah 15c (1.5 x 15 = 22.5a, not exceed the esc limit and supplies minimum of 17a) as i can't find a 20c one among low capacity batteries!

I love my HBK2, it's really a cheap heli with great value!

cheers
