Aeromarine Challenger 43"pro
Hi guys, New to the sport, just finished my first project, a easyvee from zippkits....Love it!
I really like the look of the challenger pro 43" but living in the uk I can only get one from a someone who produces them on licence fro aeromarine in the uk, has anyone had any experience with them, I don't want to fork out for a hull that's not going to be much good.
I'm planning on using a stock zen 260pum will this hull be any good with this motor?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks...Pete

Raced the boat locally a few years back and I liked it allot.. I was running BH Hanson mod motor and it was very fast.. I also ran the 48" challenger and I would say I liked the larger hull.. If your running a stock motor the 43 would be a great choice.. The difference in speed was only a couple of MPH between the to hulls..
Good luck

Yes i must admit a few years back they were good boats, had a 43" and 48" hull also. But these days there are better hulls. You should be able to find good hulls over in the UK,i am looking into a few that i am trying to decide which one i want to purchase now from Germany.

Cheers for the info, I don't think i'm looking to race just yet, so not too fussed in having a race winning hull, just like the look of the challenger.
What I really want too know is, is a hull produced on license going to be as good as the real thing from the states, I saw a picture of one on this site that the guy claimed was a aeromarine hull produced on license in the uk and to be honest it looked pap, thin, inconsistant and brushed rather than sprayed gelcoat.
What sort of speeds do you think i can expect from a stock motor in a 43"?

Depending on your set-up i would say late 40's,early 50's.A friend of mine purchased one rtr from Aeromarine last summer, a stock Zenoah 260 w/ Prather 275(B&P) ran 45-46mph consistently and he was happy.

Do a search for JoTiKa Ltd. as he is an Aeromarine dealer. Rumor has it that he lays up the hulls over there but can't say for sure. One usual way to know if it's a genuine Aeromarine hull is that it will have a card fiberglassed into it and a certificate with a matching number. This isn't set in stone as I've purchased a hull from Remy Haynes hinself and it didn't have either. It may have been a "factory second" (yeah.......sure it was!) as I got a great deal on it.

Great, I had a look at the jotika site, the're doing a blank hulll and hatch for £108.00 which seems reasonable, I few guys on here have possible details of second hand hulls so maybe i'll wait and see what the pics are like before I go and buy a brand new one.
