Default NiCd batt. charging

my stepdad just bought a new charger so he could get a 5000mAh batt. i got his old NiCd charger and 1800 batt. what is the highest mAh batt. that a NiCd charger can charge?

A NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) charger can charge any size battery you put on it. Some just take longer than others. The best charger to use is a intellapeak charger. These will do all the work for you.

Are you sure he has a Nicd battery and not a NiMh battery. Most NiCd batteries in general only go to about 3000 mah. The NiMh are the big ones.

the old one he had that he gave me is a NiCd and my lhs told me they would only charge 1800 batts. the new one he bought is a NiMh which he uses for his 5000 batt

Nicads go up to 2400 size havent seen any bigger,dont try charging a nimh battery on a nicad charger tho bad ideal lol

i charge my 1900 and 2400 on a cheap nicad quick charger no problems tho the 2400 takes a bit longer than the 1900

I have a 3000mah NiCd battery. Thats why I said 3000mah.

Really? ive never seen a nicad pack over 2400mah before.. let alone a 3000mah
who makes the pack ??[X(]

Panasonic, sanyo, epic, and tenergy makes 3000 nicd.

are they bigger than the standard sub-c?
never heard of nicads over 2400mah or nimh under 2400mah...

I have 2 panasonics that are about 3 yrs old. I only use them in my roto starts not my electrics. granted now days I dont think you can find nicd that big anymore because of nimh. They are sub c too.

They have been great for my roto starts but not sure about my electrics because of the age of them.
