Default primer over dope

hi all,
i just finished my surfaces with nitrate dope. now i want to primer them with automotive primer filler.my question is this:
is it posible the primer to melt the dope and result a mess or it is normal to stick better?
i am asking this because i think that the primer uses nitro thiner( i am not sure, smels like)
please help if anybody has experience in such situation.

Default RE: primer over dope

Nitrate dope would usually use a laquer based thinner, rather than nitro (might smell similar though). The nice thing about nitrate is that you can put almost anything over it; BUT; that having been said, the only way that you can be sure that your two paints are comptible is to make a test sample, and try them.
