Default Quality & Cheap ACFT Build (ARF)Giles 202

Here were my Goals:
1. Find the best quality large scale ARF under $200
2. Best Engine with the most power for under $150
3. Electronics for Airplane under $150

The Plane- Is a Giles 202, 120 size from Texasrcplanes.com $169. This plane out of the box is beautiful, Decals all applied no wrinkles in mono kote. Airframe is solid and light weight. Robert (owner of texas rc planes) will work directly with buyers and is very helpful.

The Engine- Took alot of time to find an engine under a $150 dollars that would power this 72 inch wing span acft and still unlimited vertical. After about a month I desided to go with a 26cc conversion engine from a commercial engine converter on ebay. The guy knew what he was talking about and had engine power rating with specific props. Cost: $135

Electronics- Ebay once again to the rescue... I know, I know I read the forums to about Towerpro servo's but the prices were to good not to try. check out the specs. I bought 6 at $60
Specification:
Dimension : 40mm x 19mm x 43mm
Weight : 55g
Operating Speed : 0.17sec / 60 degrees (4.8V no load)
Operating Speed : 0.13sec / 60 degrees (6.0V no load)
Stall Torque : 13kg/cm at 4.8V
Stall Torque : 15kg/cm at 6V
Operation Voltage : 4.8 - 7.2Volts
Gear Type: All Metal Gears

I used my radio (Futaba 6CH EX) and a 6.0 NiMh 4000 Mah battery.

Yesterday was the maiden, I did extensive tests on the servo's with constant power on them for about half an hour. The servo's do have a high pitch whine to them but other than that perfectly fine. Engine runs great, took about 5 minutes to tune for my local conditions and it was ready. CG came out automatically no weight required or reconfiguring anything. On take off it had about a 15 to 20 foot roll, Plenty of vertical power with room to spare. I used a smaller 11oz fuel tank for a 46size plane because of how good the engine was on fuel. Any question from anyone?

A finished picture, flying at $384!!! In this picture my dog is in the lower left hand corner he is a 3 year old Lab and the TV in the back ground that the wing is leaning on is a 52 inch.
I flew again today the winds were at 10MPH gusting to 15MPH and the landing direction gave about a 45 degree left front cross wind. ANYONE trained with a trainer could fly this plane very well. Its heavy and flys very stable, landing are as gentle at a high wing cessna, Power with the conversion engine is out of this world. I have not weighed the plane but im guessing between 8 and 10 lbs and still will hover in between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle depending on winds. I would not put my name on TP MG995's but I got to say they are strong and I have had no problems with them. So what if they make alittle noise, You cant hear that over my chain saw engine with 2 straight pipes!
