RE: rock racer
well, the stock motor and tranny will give you the speed and torque that rc had.
the WK tranny is really tall, so getting in into a chassis like that one would be a problem.
the WK axles are strong, but thinker than other brands(which means less clearance)
i have a WK, but if i were to build a truck like that one i would buy all the parts separate.
the stock WK tires are no good on rocks, so buying 2.2 moabs or simaller tires would be needed.
iv read that a locked stamped tranny works well, and can be mounted low in a chassis, costs around $40
you can find WK and other axles on ebay or the marketplace.
stamped/revo links are used.

RE: rock racer
No, a WK would not be a good donor rig for that. A 1.9 rig needs narrow axles, a compact tranny, and 1.9 size wheels/tires. The WK has none of this.

i know what you are saying about the tranny. the wheely king tranny is super tall. its the major part of the truck that stops if from being a good rock crawler. i mean, the truck dont cost that much, and i could make my own chassis pretty easy. but the tall tranny wont allow the truck to have a low CG.
