RE: new revo, wont crank,, please help newbie
Jake watch the video it shows you how to clear your engine. I am a new owner also and put my wand in and nothing at all. I popped the video back in the tv and watched and took the glow plug out and turnd it a couple of times I put the plug back in and have not looked back....
Even if you dont think its flooded it takes a couple of minutes to do I didnt thinkl it was flooded but i said Fk it I might as well try it.....
Good luck Jake............

Also like a few of the others have already mentioned; check the plug to make sure its good and make sure the battery for the starter wand is fully charged. As for the flooding; indeed when a engine like this is brand new, it does not take a whole lot for it to flood; especially since its already set rich as a pig for break-in...

I am pretty sure the Manual and video cover this procedure it explicit detail. This may be an option. If you can't wait until tuesday, go to the hobby shop. Good luck

RE: new revo, wont crank,, please help newbie
Just today I got my new Revo out of the box and after using the EZ start it stopped after 4 to 5 times starting the engine.
The fule was just about to reach the engine and poof nothing happened anymore.
I recharged the ez start battery but still nothing. only the glow plug light was up and no movement at all.
It seemed like the piston was stuck or so.
I then removed the cylinder head and then tried to use the EZ start and... Yeah movement once again. Mounted the Cylinder head and glowplug again and my Revo was starting like a charm.
I tried also what has been written here with using a new glow plug or even trying to get the fuel out of the engine thinking it might be flooded. (Hairdryer ... no use it is above 100 degrees here) But as i knew there was not a drop nitro in the engine yet...
Try to just remove the cylinder head and then once removed try using the EX start just for a sec to see if the piston will move. By me it worked and i was happy it was so simple.
Due keep in mind when fastening the cylinder head you must first fasten all screws till you feel softley they are slightly fastened. Then fasten them one by one in a cross manner and try to fasten them with a 1/8 turn. This way the cylinder head fastens correctly.
I would not recommend using any screw drivers to get to any movement in the piston. But if you have a pro's help that knows what he is doing i guess... if you trust him. I don't have that knowledge so i would not dare.
Ps. Just trying to help out!
Good Luck
Hope this helps you!
Cheers,
R.
I must admit after looking longer than my nose is long and reading what MSpeed wrote, i found out that he was right! There is a simple procedure to get the TDC fixed with a screw driver lol!

Make sure you break it in good, the traxxas break in method should work just fine for ya.
Yeah, we all probably had trouble starting our first engine. It's a pretty sharp learning curve for new people and no manual can really teach you how to start it the first time, experience is pretty key.

I would agree with taking the engine head off and then put it on again cause it could be on way too tight and it makes it too hard for the piston to move. Fresh charge on battery would be good too.
Have a blast and don't run it full out to much after break-in cause it still is breaking-in a few tanks after.
Good luck.

I second this! Just make sure u follow the instructions in the manual and u should be good to go. Like this person and I know alot of others have mentioned; just take ur time at it, hands on experience will definately help ya out, so just keep at it man. Dont give up even if u think u will never figure it out. It is indeed quite a adjustment going from electric to nitro. And good luck with it man [8D]

stambone,
i know to keep open 1 post.. as you can see i have nearly 900 post and most of them [probably 850] were helping out other guys with their heli's. i only opened the second post here becuase i thought it was battery related and sometimes the same people do not come back to a post once they have read it and answered it.. i see you only have 33 post and joined the forums 1 month ago. which means you are either a genius at this or a newbie like me. sorry if i bugged you but then you dont really need to help me out then.. jake.
to all other guys,,, thx for your help.. i do listen and try everything you suggest...
