Default Installing a Fuji gas engine in dumas Scarab

I have a 55 inch dumas scarab that was custom made years ago with a nitro o.s. 81 never run.I want to put a fuji engine I have a t the house ,the wooden rails I have in the boat are inside rail to inside rail 4 inches, outside to outside rail 2 16ths less than five inches. Will I end up applying some type of cushioning to both the inside and the outside of the railing with a long enough bolt that will be comfortably accomodate the cushioning.????

Hmmm

I have the fuji engine from a previous boat that the hull was destroyed.

Hey NFS2, I take it you have read the posts on the rio 51 boats and the exhaust breakages. all i can say is put a piece of silicon tubing between the header and the pipe to reduce the weight and vibration on the exhaust port. Good luck with the build. How about some photos.

You might struggle to mount the motor between thosE rails, you need propper mounts with rubber isolators for the motor all gas boats use 5" rails thats between the rails not outside.

your are right about the engine power ,this is the thing the o.s. set up is discontinued and ,you have to do a lot more to start it than the fuji, a lot more adjusting ,than a gas engine, the boat was custom made over 10 years ago and it just sat at a hobby shop it is in pretty good shape nitro and me just don't get along.should a zenoah 231 do the trick.or are there any hopp ups for a fuji engine.I want a engine that will go in with the set up I already have with out having to change the drive shaft.and the new fuji engine goes perfect its just the mounting.
