Default Turning off engine

What are the ways to turn off engines?
The two mentioned in my manual are not efficient enough.
First method uses a screwdriver to stop the flywheel. That would probably strip the wheel and I don't want to carry a screwdriver around all the time.
Second one is to hold the fuel tube, but that's hard to do when the body is on and not very efficient as the car will go into its "turbo no fuel stage" when it just jumps forward about 2 feet.

On youtube, I saw a guy plugging the exhaust with his finger, so I was wondering are there any other ways to turn off the engine?

stop flywheel, pinch fuel line, plug stinger.. your only three options.
pinching the line leans the engine Way out
plugging the stinger richens the engine Way up
stopping the flywheel is my favourite.

Is it smart to stop the flywheel, with hand?

EDIT: The stinger is the exhaust output right? Sorry still learning

As long as the engine is at idle speed you can just touch your finger against the flywheel and stop it. I've always used that method and still have my fingerprints. It stops real easy that way. If its a runaway then put your sneaker against the flywheel real hard. Or pinch or pull off the fuel line.

Ok thanks guys!

The manual should have better explained the flywheel method. The way they put it and pictured it, it looks like the screwdriver would just kill the flywheel... Or maybe it was just me

I have the throttle trim set on my radio so I can fully close the carb. Shuts it off everytime, and I don't even have to touch the car.

he may not have a spring, but just some stop that pushes it closed, odd way to go about it.

I just bump the flywheel or plug the stinger

^^^^ That's what I was wondering.

Pick it up by the wing with left hand, with bottom of chassis facing your left leg, pick up right shoe and bend leg at the knee until at a 90-degree angle, touch toe of sneaker/boot/shoe to flywheel - engine dies.

pretty simple

Stopping the flywheel is the best way to do it. You can do it with your finger if it is at idle. Doing it this way insures easy start ups again. Plugging the stinger floods the engine, and pinching the fuel line runs it out of fuel and needs to re primed again for restart.

When I brake, my carb stays open, when I turn the throttle trim all the way down it closes. Yeah I know it's odd, but it just works well for me.
