RE: water tube
Typically silicon tubing works well and stands up to potential heat spikes that can sometimes occur on manifolds etc. Be sure to use a cable tie or other hose retaining method to ensure the hoses do not come off water fittings.
Alternatively Tygon fuel tubing will work well however is not as forgiving with high heat exposure. I have seen other black hoses (similar to a radiator type hose) that will certainly work.

alternatively you could go to a reticulation/pond shop and grab some clean vinyl hose but its not as flexible

RE: water tube
Silicon, large/extra large for me (dependant on application).
Personally I never trusted vinyl (yes I tried it many moons ago), IMHO it just doesn't take the heat and I have seen an engine or two cooked due to a lack of diligence from the operator when using it[:'(]. Yes, I have also seen it used successfully on many boats.
At the end of the day, the end user will use what they want for varying reasons (cost, availability etc), but I would rather pay a few $$ more for the added piece of mind with silicon......................never had a drama with silicon.
Jimmy, Let's put it into a "potential" perspective ...................... is it worth risking a full mod engine (Omen engine if I recall previous posts from you) @ AUD$500+ due to water line failure for the sake of saving a few $$ per foot on silicon water line???
Each to their own

RE: water tube
I switched from the black line to silicon line after the black stuff failed on me & fried my header O rings. It was the stuff bonzi sells, not sure if that's vinyl or not. I don't care, I won't use it anymore. I use silicon with an extra bit on each nipple to stop it popping off.

Hi Dicko the holliday was good mate, free beer and food for two weeks as we went all inclusive ! good job judging by the price of things over there nowadays now i think ill need to get on my bike to lose a few pounds haha .A good way to keep your tubing on the nipples is to get some really small zipties they work great.

I went to a hose & fittings store here and bought some automotive windshield washer hose for next to nothing and held it above a flame and it held up better then the silicon tubing . I'm using that for now on .
